We write this update having experienced one of the largest transformations of our lives. The last five days have been a bit of a blur and a bit taxing. My tenure at Spring Street Family Dentistry ended on June 30th. It was a great day with a multitude of emotions. I received a ton of hugs, was treated to lunch by our office crew, and was able to share some awesome memories. These 11 years have flown by and I am eternally grateful to those who have trusted me, invested in me, and have made me a better doctor, friend, leader, and overall person.
With no time for pause, Cindy and I packed up our stuff, loaded a Penske rental, and moved to Hilton Head Island for the entire month of July. Here we will be hosting several family members and friends for the month. Our home in HHI is a cluster, but we will slowly get life back to normal!
June highlights included the following: a continuing education course for me, a last twirl competition for Emma and Blakely, North GA Christian Camp for Emma, buddy camp for Blakely, and Camp Winshape for Bowden. Emma and Blakely competed beautifully and made us so proud in Myrtle Beach. Their growth and dedication to be better is astounding. As is always the case, all three loved camp, made new friends, and enjoyed a sort of last hoorah with old friends.
For those of you who have followed us through this journey, you are well aware that my word for the year has been “PLOW”. We have plowed for 12 months with support raising. It has been difficult, time consuming, yet so very God-affirming. The Lord has taught us on every single step and through every single relationship. We know that He guides us, cares for us, and will never forsake us. We have plowed and plowed and plowed. Now, we hope to “REST” in July!
Please let us know if we can be praying for you, your family, or your friends. It will be our honor. If you are still considering partnering with our family in Peru, please visit https://goo.gl/hwH3rL. Please follow our blog at http://www.dubosesinperu.com and our Facebook page at “DuBoses in Peru”.
We will send out another email mid-month as we adjust and settle into our new housing and progress through our month of rest!
In His name,
Josh and Cindy DuBose
