Hello friends, family, and partners,
It is hard to believe that I am typing this from Cusco, Peru. What a radical change this Easter is from last year. I hope everyone is preparing for Resurrection Sunday. I love this time of year and want to briefly write about it.
Today is the day that Jesus is buried, His Disciples, friends and family mourned His death not understanding fully what He had taught them. They do not know that our Savior will rise in 3 days, redeeming us all. Our past, present, and future sins. Wow, God sent His only Son to die on the cross for our sins. It is an amazing story. A story of hope. A story of redemption. A story of salvation. Our story of Grace.
Living among the people of Peru gives our family a different perspective on Grace and salvation. It does not make us special. It does not make us Golden. It just makes us a little different right now. I see brokenness daily. Hurts. Abuse. Poverty like I have never seen. Yet, I see beauty. I see compassion. I see care for elderly family members that is so missing from US culture. I see my children growing in ways that so many will never experience. I see my marriage growing too. The struggles here are real. However, God’s grace surrounds us daily and reminds us that He sent His Son to die for us.
In this Holiday, please remember the reason. Almost 2000 years ago, Jesus died for you and me. Sinners. Folks who struggle with anger, depression, addiction, perfectionism, etc. He loves us so much. Salvation and the way to eternity in Heaven is a decision. A decision that only you can make. Take time to reflect today, tomorrow, and Easter Sunday. Why not follow the One who died for you?
Love you guys and Happy Easter,
