Happy December friends, family, supporters and prayer warriors,

As we prepare for Jesus’ birthday, we want to reflect on our last month in Peru.  We had a wonderful team Thanksgiving meal.  Everyone pitched in, cooked, did crafts with kids, and we even watched some NFL football. Please enjoy the following updates.

Cindy: Cindy has begun a children’s Bible study on Tuesday afternoons for the younger missionary kids.  The group includes Blakely and they are high energy.  Cindy continues her teaching rotation at church with the children.  She is such a blessing and wealth of knowledge.  Also, she continues volunteering at the Josephine House 3 days a week.  She and I celebrated her birthday with a surprise trip to Lima and then a surprise party.

Josh: I am still working 4 days a week at La Fuente treating patients and mentoring our 2 dental interns.  They will finish at La Fuente just before Christmas.  Also, I am still working with our Jovenes on Saturday evenings and have rotated teaching a Bible study on Wednesday nights.  Under the watch of our clinic director Nathan Wilson, I have continued to assume more responsibility for La Fuente’s finances.  This includes financial transactions, payroll, and all clinic statistics. I finished the month in Santiago, Chile at an international implant course.  It was a fantastic course and my first all Spanish course.

Emma:  Emma is playing almost every Sunday with our church Praise and Worship team.  She is so dedicated and loves to perform. She continues piano lessons and has played some bass guitar at her school.  She is entering the final 2 weeks of school and is doing really well.

Bowden:  Bowden continues thriving in school and is ready to finish the school year.  He is doing really well in playing drums and has performed a few times this month.

Blakely:  Blakely too is doing very well in school.  We see how well she loves her friends and truly has never met a stranger.  She has been practicing really hard for her upcoming ballet recital.  Cindy and I are excited to she her dance in the recital.

Josephine House:  The house now cares for 15 children.  They are loved well.  We had an outside marketing group develop a new website where donating will be made easy as well as buying shirts, coffee mugs, tumblers, etc with the logo on them.  The site should be up and running very soon and I will update everyone when it is.

La Fuente Centro de Salud:  The clinic continues to treat and disciple patients daily.  Our refractive laser is now functional and the first surgeries were performed 2 weeks ago.  Excitement is very high in the clinic as well as Cusco.  We prepare for the departure of our director, Nathan Wilson (7 plus years as director), and leadership will shift to Dr. Nathan Henson.

Iglesia Fuente de Gracia:  The church continues rotating Pastors every Sunday.  We have had great success with this and thank everyone who helps the Sunday service run smoothly.  The church honored the Wilson family 2 Sundays ago.  They will be missed greatly.

University student ministry:  We had our last official Saturday night meeting 2 weeks ago.  We prepared dinner for the Jovenes and Nathan and Audrey taught in separate groups of men and women.  We plan on hosting a Christmas dinner at the church for the students as well.

Prayer Requests:
Please partner with us in prayer for the following:

  • pray for the Wilson family as they return to the USA in December.  They have been in Cusco over 7 years.
  • pray for the clinic as we transition the director position to Nathan Henson and pray that I make wise financial decisions and help lead well.
  • pray for our family as the Wilson’s transition out.  We are losing some dear friends here.
  • pray that our babies finish this school year well (last day is Dec.14th).
  • pray that the orphans at the Josephine House find their forever family.
